There’s a lot to be said for Bank of America Easy Online Payroll and we generally find it to be an extremely good value. There are just a couple of caveats that should be mentioned right at the top. There’s no question that Bank of America’s Easy Online Payroll service is meant to drive accounts to the bank. In order to take advantage of the service, a business must have a Bank of America business checking account and Small Business Online Banking access. Additionally, there are additional fees if all employees don’t receive their direct deposit into a Bank of America account. Even with those restrictions, however, the value built into this service makes it worthy of consideration.
The Bank of America Easy Online Payroll Plus Service runs a very competitive $36.00 per month. It’s one of only two of our rated programs that offer a monthly cost that includes an unlimited number of payrolls. If there are more than 20 employees, but not all are paid by direct deposit to a Bank of America account, an additional monthly fee of $2 will be charged for each employee over 20. Bank of America Easy Online Payroll is only available to businesses with less than 50 employees. For larger business, their traditional payroll service is available. If a business has employees residing in more than one state, there is a $12 per month additional fee for each additional state.
Bank of America also offers an Easy Online Payroll Basic Service which does the same federal payroll tax filings and deposits but doesn’t take care of state requirements. That service is $20 per month but is actually free of charge if all employees are paid using Bank of America direct deposit. Direct deposit to other financial institutions is not available with the Basic service.
